Production: The licorice plant is a herbaceous perennial legume that grows best in well-drained soils in full sun. The root system consists of one main, deep taproot with several horizontal roots branching out. The roots are harvested after the end of the third year of growth.

Common Use: Licorice has a distinctive flavor and sweetness. It can be prepared as a tea or tincture. The sticks and slices may be chewed by themselves and are pleasant and tasty.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
